My name .. .is Jane. And, I am the salve and lip balm concoctor at Mountain Pure, LLC. This is my first attempt at writing a blog, but Heather keeps “suggesting” that I write one so here goes!
Growing up my Mom always made homemade bread, muffins, granola, etc, we had a garden that we all worked together to grow and harvest, we used herbs and natural remedies, and all that jazz. I grew up knowing that the earth provided, but I didn’t realize how powerful that information would be until I was much older.
Fast forward to 2013, my youngest was 8-10 months old, and she started having dry, itchy patches of skin on her legs and feet. Well, at this point in my life, the first thing I did was try baby lotion, which probably made it worse, then we headed off to the pediatrician when that didn’t give the results I wanted. The doctor gave us a prescription for some eczema cream. Yay, now we can get some relief!! Or so that’s what I thought. So, that night after her bath I rubbed her down with what was meant to help her, and can I tell you that baby screamed and cried and her skin turned red and irritated. I couldn’t wash it off because her skin was so sensitive at this point she screamed when I touched her legs. Ya’ll!!! That was the MOST awful feeling putting something on your child that you anticipated would help her, and her being in agonizing pain!
So, we let the doctor know and he swore that it “shouldn’t do that”. Well doctor man, it did, I was there! He then called us in another cream. We tried again. Same results. At that point, I put it all down and looked at my husband and told him I was about to heal my baby myself. Momma’s on a mission for their babies can accomplish some pretty phenomenal stuff!
I had recently spoken to a friend and she had started using essential oils, which I was also familiar with, but again, didn’t take the time to really research the healing properties, until I was desperate to find something to soothe my baby’s skin. I ordered my starter kit of oils, and did tons of research on oils for eczema and skin irritations. I was super stoked and started mixing away!! I made a blend for Lilly, and I prayed for that blend to be just what my baby needed. Guess what??? IT WAS!!! I rubbed her legs down, and she didn’t flinch! After about a week of rub downs, her legs were SO much better. In the winter, her legs still get little itchy dry spots, but we haven’t seen her legs get to the point of bleeding since we started using oils to soothe.
This year, we added CBD to our little concoction, and the results are even more amazing! We use it for dry hands, feet, elbows, anything that is even the slightest bit itchy or dry, and we don’t have to worry that we have just put chemicals on our largest organ, OUR SKIN!! Anything you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream in less than 30 seconds. Did you hear that?? Lotions or skincare products with parabens, synthetic colors, synthetic fragrance, phthalates, formaldehyde are being sold and used by people everyday, and they have NO clue that all that junk is getting into their bloodstream essentially causing cancers, Alzheimer’s, and a number of other diseases. I know I don’t want that malarkey on my skin or my family’s skin.
Along with my eczema cream, I had started making lip balm because I was tired of using chapstick that never worked or would give me a tingly feeling in my throat (why would that ever seem ok??) or would make my lips worse. So, I started on the search again for the best blend for balm and started cooking away! I was so excited that it came out so well that I passed them out to my friends and family. To my delight everyone LOVED it and I would get texts and calls that went…..Hey, so do you have any lip balm right now?? Or, OMG I am scrapping my tube out please make some lip balm! HA! What started as an attempt to make a healing balm to share with friends has turned into my now making lip balm with CBD for the ultimate healing experience! I’m super stoked to be a part of such a huge movement! CBD is bringing the quality of life back to people one step at a time! Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Peace, love and healing to all.
